Writing prompt – If humans had taglines…

If humans had taglines, what would yours be?

Ok, so first up my tagline might read ditzy weirdo, as I originally read that writing prompt as – ‘If humans had tan lines!’ And my first reaction was… well yeah… duh… Then I read it again and realised what it actually said… Taglines!!!

So I guess my real tagline for me and my person might be something along the lines of – ‘Piper can write, but can she read?’ Or maybe something like, ‘Piper, read things twice to get along in life’.

Funny thing is I think everyone does actually have a tagline… whether it be what their profession is, ‘Piper the writer’ to what their personality is like, ‘Piper the caring mother and wife’, to what their hearts desire truly is… ‘Piper would love to be a millionaire and win the lottery and pay bills on time and… oh you get it’.

Everyone has a tagline within them.

Some taglines work better than others. An old tagline of mine would have been, ‘Piper, has no friends is a loner’, but I decided that for me just wasn’t going to work, it didn’t sound appealing to prospective friends or colleagues I wanted to entrap into my friendship circle… Mwhahaha… (Evil laugh aside) So now it’s more of a ‘Piper, friends with the voices and characters in her head’. (Only joking… or am I?)

But I think what we need to take away from this is that a tagline doesn’t define you as a person, don’t let the things that people will read about you or see about you, because of your job, your status, your wants and fears define you. You are you with or without the tagline and to be honest sometimes when you give yourself a label, you end up trying to live by that label, that weird sticker you have given yourself and then when you want to branch out you find it hard to peel back the sticker and be you.

Moral of story, having a tagline can be fun, it can help you connect with some people, but don’t let a tagline rule your life and define you. If you want your tagline to change, then change it to what you want!!!

Hope you all enjoyed my answer to today’s writing prompt. I look forward to reading through what other people have put and to see everyone’s ideas and takes on the matter.

Take care, love Piper xo
