Once upon a time spirituality was very important to me… But bad things happened in my life and to those I hold dear… So much so that even my therapist didn’t know what to do with me and didn’t know how to advise me. I could literally write a book on all the bad things that have happened to me and my little family and most of you wouldn’t believe it all happened to just one family and is still on-going. And I know that because people have said to me before that they didn’t believe me… Yet I have lived it…
Because of all the things that happened to me I lost faith, I lost any hope or importance of spirituality. Because my spirituality wasn’t what got me through the hardest times, it didn’t help me or my family, in fact it turned it’s back on us, other people turned their backs on us, we were alone, abandoned, stricken by illnesses, poverty, disabilities and just damn bad luck… Too much bad luck for one little family to endure. Most people I know haven’t been through half of what we have been through, or when they have endured something, it’s been one of the things we endured, not all of them together and within a short space of time and then lingering on for the rest of their lives.
So, now I don’t have a spirituality, I don’t believe in anything really other than my husband and my kids and luck… Life is just all the luck of the draw… If your lucky enough to pull the long straw and not the short one please be happy and appreciate what you have… Because you never know what other people are going through and how hard their life can be.
