I love cleaning and I love a clean home. The smell of bleach filling my home like a weird clinical aroma is so satisfying. And because I love cleaning I am a sucker for books that chat about cleaning and have hints and tips. I have all the Mrs Hinch books and the Stacey Solomon one too… so when I spotted this one in my local supermarket a few months ago, I just had to grab it.
I hadn’t actually heard of Anna Louisa before, I have to admit I felt like I had to be loyal to Mrs Hinch, but after checking out her Instagram @Anna_Louisa_At_Home I thought hell to it, why not… the more cleaning books the merrier.
The cover to me is very simple in design, but of course that is usually the case with these types of books, they are made to look clean, simple and minimalistic to get people hooked on the whole cleaning fad and phenomenon.
The book itself inside was super informative with cleaning routines, checklists, hints and tips, how to do cleans in short sharp bursts to make it more manageable, ingredients to use, equipment to buy and what to not waste your money on and places to write your own notes to keep. It was kind of just like the Mrs Hinch book in a way, with it’s layout, it’s cute drawings and theme but it too was personal to her and she made it super easy to follow.
I did enjoy this book and it was great to see her hints and tips, but I guess if you already have the Mrs Hinch books or other books like this your probably don’t need to buy them all. And that’s not me saying its a bad book, it’s not, it’s a good book, I just have other books similar that it kind of made the information a little repetitive. But say if your not a Mrs Hinch fan, or you have grown up with Anna Louisa and not Mrs Hinch, then maybe you will fall in love with the book and she does have some great time saving tips.
I do actually enjoy Anna Louisa’s Instagram page. She is so sweet, very down to earth and I like her ‘Mumsie’ feel good vibes, like don’t worry about being in a bikini with stretch marks because no one cares and do it for you, and then taking a book on holiday to read but with kids having no time to read it. It is just such a human and mummy thing to say and do. its humbling.
For me, she is an amazing lady and if you like her content and wish to support her, then buy her book, it is good and great and very informative. But for me personally I just have other similar books that I really didn’t need to buy another one lol, but at least I have helped support a fellow author… And to be honest, good on her because her book has done a million times better than mine lol and it’s great to see women rise up and make something for themselves and their families and I will always support that. Women need to support women.
So if you like her, her content and vibe or you collect these pretty cleaning books that look fab on a coffee table or book shelf, then grab it! You won’t be disappointed.
