What is the best compliment I have received about my writing?

Writing is hard and everyone seems to be out to put people down. If someone has done something amazing like write and self-publish a book, people always have to be really negative and say something horrible to put them down. Like ‘Oh self-publishing isn’t real publishing’… Even though I can hold and give you one to hold ‘a real’ in the flesh copy of my book… Or because you enter a book into a competition and someone else wants to win, the give your book two stars and no review just to bring your book down.

But on the odd occasion, someone will say something nice about your work, they will be happy for you and not jealous, they will lift you up and make you feel worth it and amazing.

So here are some of the best compliments I have received about my writing;

• Your book reminded me of Stephen Kings ‘Carrie’, just without the Telekinesis. It was great to read about a person who was bullied relentlessly as a child and a teen, finally get revenge. (This made me feel so happy, because Stephen King is the King of horror and for my book to be compared, even just in a tiny way, is just amazing!)
• Wow this is amazing!!! I cannot believe you have the imagination to write a whole book!!! I can just about write an email.
• I want a signed copy of your book, so when you make it, I can sell it and make loads of money from it… Yeah thanks neighbour lol.
• You’re such a quiet and shy person, yet you have written a book about a girl that gets revenge and creates bloody murder! I always knew it’s the quiet ones you need to watch out for lol.
• And my biggest compliment, it inspired my Nanna to write poetry about her life growing up and I am going to help publish it for her!!! She told me that me pursuing my dreams and not caring about what others think is inspiring and she want’s to do it too.

So there you have it, some compliments I have received with my writing. My book has only been out a short while, just a few short weeks. But it’s nice to have some compliments.
