I know my blog is mainly a book-ish blog, but I do have other likes, dislikes and hobbies that I wish to write about sometimes… And today’s blog post is a little different because it is something to do with ‘Fashion’… Now I am not in anyway shape or form a fashionable person. I do like handbags but that is something else, but for me, clothes are… a means to feel warm, snuggly and comfortable. I am not about wearing clothes that pain me so I look and feel good in a fashionable sense I just want to feel comfy and cosy, especially seen as I have a chronic illness and my body is usually in pain 9/10’s of the time.
BUT… And it is a big BUT!!! Primark came out with a collection, or a collaboration as it were with my all time favourite video game… The Sims!!!
Now, I have been playing ‘The Sims’ for a really long time, since I was a teenager like eleven or twelve years old, and I am now thirty five years old and I still play The Sims on a weekly basis. I think I love playing The Sims so much because it is an escape from the real world, but I can also create my own world and create lives that I would never in my lifetime live. I can make a poor person that struggles and works hard and becomes a multi-Simoleonaire (Not sure if that is the correct spelling, but that is sims money in normal talk) I can make someone who is famous and their children become Nepo babies and live the luscious life of a rich sim whose parent is super successful… I can make an Astronaut, I can re-create my favourite television shows, the characters and their homes and or apartments… I can create my own characters from my books and works in progress to see what they would be like if they were kind of real lol. Hell… I can even create a sim who is a best selling author, which of course is my lifetime dream but is so hard and basically unattainable unless you have connections in the writing field or are just lucky and have the manuscript the publishers desire to sell to the masses… But I digress… Back to The Sims and Primark and their collab and clothes.

So, please excuse my body, I am not in the best shape due to my illness, but none the less I wanted to show you the clothes. First up we have the ‘Sul Sul’, T-shirt and shorts Pyjama set. They come with the green shorts that have the Sims famous plumbob diamond sign, which is usually the thing above their head so you know which Sim you are controlling and playing as. Then the plain white ‘T’, with the outline of the plumbob and the words ‘Sul Sul’ which is Simlish for what I believe to be – Hello. These are very cute indeed and were also very comfy to wear, especially in the hot weather or if your like me and in the menopause, these are good for keeping cooler when the hot sweats arrive lol. I got the larger size (L) and these are good to size, they fit perfectly, gave me wiggle room for my bloated days with my endometriosis.

Next up we have the ‘Motherlode’ cheat Pyjama top, Motherlode is a famous Sim cheat to give you lots of money or simoleons. The top has a cute plumbob which is actually sewn on and not a sticker and it actually feels better quality than that of a normal, cheaper Primark Pyjama top. It should have come with Pyjama bottoms which look a lot like the short from the previous set, but they sold these separately and not as a set and they had run out of the bottoms in my size.

The top is very cute and more cropped, but I could potentially wear it as a normal everyday top, or I could mix and match the top with the shorts.
I love this top, for me the plumbob and the cheat code is just what the Sims is truly all about lol. If you are an avid simmer then you know motherlode.

Then we have my favourite Pyjama set. This is more warmer and best for the winter, but it looks so cute and was great for when I came home from hospital and wanted to be comfy, warm and cosy and still look nice for if and when I had visitors. The fabric is heavier, thicker and feels worth more money and this was the most expensive of all the Pyjama sets at a think £22! Which for Primark isn’t cheap, but it is after all a collab.

The print design of this one is different to the previous two. This one has an array of different Sim symbols, such as the Simoleon coin, the bed for when a Sim is tired and needs their sleep / energy want need fulfilled. It has a rose and a heart for the Sims romance bar and need. It has kiss lips and hearts for when a Sim is feeling a little ‘Flirty’. It has notes of simoleon cash, an alarm clock, a donut and of course the footprints and the X symbol, which is when a Sim cannot access an area or they are bugging out and feel like they cannot reach something when they can.

Lastly we have socks, lots and lots of Sim’s socks. Just because I love socks.
The socks come in a set of three, one dark emerald / forest green shade with the words ‘Sul Sul’ on them. The other one matches the more expensive print Pyjama’s. And the last ones match the other set of Pyjama’s with the plain white and the Sims logo and plumbob. The socks feel of good quality too.
Overall I was really impressed with this collab between The Sims and Primark. I have always wanted Sims merch, as they did do some earlier this year on their official channel but I couldn’t get my hands on any at the time, but Primark doing it has meant that more Sims fans can gain access to something cool and nostalgic and Sim-ish.
The quality of the collab I feel has been well worth the money. All the Pyjama’s wash up well. There has been no fading, no colour running, no bobbles and no falling apart, so I feel I will get a good amount of use out of all of these.
Now, I spent around £100 give or take as I cannot remember the exact amount, but I did actually buy doubles, because I got one set in (L) for me and then one set in (XS) for one of my daughters who is also just as obsessed. I think for that amount of money getting two loads of everything and the quality I feel it was a good buy, good value for money and an amazing opportunity for me to finally own some Sims merch and clothing.
Hope you liked my blog, and have a great day. Dag, Dag…
