I have decided to try setting myself goals for every month, especially for where it concerns my books, my writing, reading and just everything generally for my blog and my own books.
I love blogging, but whilst sometimes I can kind of ‘Pantser’ it (Just go with the flow and just see what I write when I sit down) sometimes some form of planning is needed to stop things from becoming stale, to make sure I don’t repeat myself too much but also just to make sure that my blog and my books become the best place and things I have.
So, here is my list of goals that I have set myself for the month of October;
- To read four books at the very least!!! Maybe a few more if I can. That means I can at least review one book a week. Obviously some books take longer than others to read so it does all depend on the book and the genre. Plus my university course is starting back up again this month, so time may be a little less spreadable for me where it concerns books. Especially seen as I will have to read some books for my course to.
- Finish my draft of Death’s Carousel 2!!! Death’s Carousel was my first debut book, I began writing the sequel a few months ago, but with the release of my first book and some of my university assignments, I have yet to finish the draft of my second book in the series. At the moment I have plans to make it a three book series, but I will see how the ending of the third book goes as to whether any more may come to fruition.
- Have a Halloween sale for the eBook version of Death’s Carousel – My book is enrolled on KDP’s programme which means I can every 90 days put it up for some form of promotion, for example a free book promotion. And seen as my book is a thriller / horror with bloody revenge set at a fairground, I thought Halloween would be the perfect time for it to go on sale for a scary read.
- Clean my office – I work from home, writing my blog daily, writing my books daily and also doing my Creative Writing and English Literature Degree. But I can be a messy thinker, plus I am a book collector and hoarder which means I can have piles of books that need to be shelves and my note books are scattered all over my desk. So therefore, my home office needs a clean!
- Create a book trailer on TikTok / Book Tok – I have recently signed up to TikTok and I have started to make videos of my book collection, my books and makeup and my pets lol, but I recently read that it is good to make a book trailer of your own book to make it more appealing to readers. So that is what I plan on doing in October and hopefully, before my book goes on eBook sale to help promote more sales.
- Sort out my book collection – I have so many books, and I guess this one can go hand in hand with cleaning my office. I try not to keep all the books I read unless they really changed my life somehow or they are an all time favourite. Every once and a while I like to sort through and declutter and donate the books I have read and reviewed in the hopes they can go to a good new home. I usually donate them to a Tesco store where they have a charity book stand so at least money gets donated to a good cause.
So these are my current goals and I hope I can succeed in doing them.
What are your goals for October? Let me know xo.
