I am on a role with my new book (current work in progress) I was half way through writing the second instalment in my Death’s Carousel novel series, but I have had an idea brewing in my mind for a few years for another story, one which I associate with a certain musical soundtrack and thus it means I want to listen to that music and write that book. So whilst I am in the mood for that story I have also decided to try and set myself another challenge. And that is to use some of my new bookish makeup products to try and hit pan on them.

So what is project pan for makeup?
Project pan is where you try to use some certain makeup items to use them up, or hit pan. Pan being the bottom of the product packaging. Just like my image above shows, I have hit pan on my Super shock highlight in Meadow by Colourpop and it is from the Twilight collection.
The products I have decided to try and hit pan on are;
- Boots No 7 Hydraluminous foundation
- Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Matte fixing spray
- Kylie Cosmetics Kylash Mascara
- Xo by Khloe Kardashian perfume tube
- Farm Stay Collagen Cream
- No 7 Airbrush away primer
- Sol body (colourpop) dry body oil in Like Diamonds from Twilight collection
- Colourpop x Twilight super shock highlighter in Meadow
- Sheglam x Twilight liquid blush
- Sheglam x Twilight lip tint
- Sheglam x Twilight eyeshadow palette
- Sheglam x Twilight lip oil

Now I know makeup doesn’t have much to do with writing or with books, but for me makeup is another love, another hobby. I love to collect makeup that is associated with books such as Twilight, Mean girls, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon and so on.
And doing a project pan alongside writing my book will help me focus too. Number one it will make me get ready in the morning when I wake up which means, my brain will engage and think I am going to work so I will see my writing as a job. Making me concentrate more but also put more effort in to write and not just procrastinate, because at work procrastination is not allowed.
Number two it helps to kick start my creative mindset, makeup is like an art form and so it makeup my creative juices flow so I feel inspired to write.
Number three it helps to make me feel confident. I have a very shy and introverted personality, and sometimes if I am having a low mood day or feeling anxious, stressed or drained I will not write because talking to my characters feels like hard work. But if I put makeup on, my war paint, I feel more confident and it makes me feel like I can talk, I can chat and I can understand what it is my characters are trying to tell me and what they want from the story.
So yes, makeup and books is a little off at times and unrelated but to me, they are very relatable.
I have given myself a four month time frame to write and edit my new work in progress and also to use and pan my makeup items. If I become bored of any items or use them up I will roll in new ones or other items to keep it fresh and going. But for now, this is what I am going to be using on the daily to pan and to help me write.
